Meet Our Team

Eric Benke

Partner

Eric Benke’s entrepreneurial spirit was shaped early on in his family’s delicatessen in New York City, where he gained firsthand experience in customer service, operations, and the day-to-day challenges of running a small business. This foundation instilled a deep appreciation for the hard work and strategic thinking required to succeed in business.

He began his professional career in 1993 at a boutique brokerage firm in New York, earning his Series 7, Series 63, Life, Health, and Variable Annuity Insurance licenses. His early work in financial services provided valuable insight into investment strategies and client relationship management.

After relocating to Orlando, Eric joined First Union Brokerage Services as a Personal Investment Counselor, where he worked with a diverse client base, including many small and midsized business owners. His ability to connect with entrepreneurs and understand their financial needs became a hallmark of his advisory approach.

In 2001, Eric launched a startup focused on sales, customer service, and collections support. Under his leadership, the business grew into a full-service consulting firm with over 100 agents, serving clients across multiple industries. After successfully selling the company in 2011, Eric continued to pursue new ventures, applying his experience in business development, strategic planning, and operational efficiency.

In 2012, Eric joined Kanter and Associates, PA, CPAs, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in customer service, business development, and consulting. Since then, he has worked across a broad range of industries, with a strong focus over the past decade on supporting veterinary practices. Eric has helped veterinarians streamline operations, enhance profitability, and implement strategic improvements without compromising patient care or team morale.

Managing Partner

Brad Kanter launched Kanter Financial Forensics, LLC in 2021 to serve the litigation support needs of attorneys in legal disputes. KFF builds on the success of Kanter Consulting Group, P.A., which has grown to become a full-service accounting firm servicing hundreds of businesses and individual clients since its founding in 2002.

Brad Kanter

Diemmy Perez CPA, MSA

Tax & Assurance Manager

Diemmy began her accounting career with Kanter Consulting Group in early 2015 as an intern, shortly after earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida. Her dedication and drive quickly earned her a promotion to Accounting Clerk while she pursued her Master’s Degree in Accounting and worked toward CPA licensure.

In 2019, after receiving her CPA license, Diemmy advanced to Senior Staff Accountant, and in 2024, she was promoted to Tax and Assurance Manager. In her current role, she leads full-service accounting functions for the firm’s business clients and mentors junior team members. Diemmy specializes in business consulting, federal and state tax preparation, and tax advocacy services, delivering tailored solutions that support each client’s unique goals.

Michael Ellis

Staff Accountant

Michael proudly served in the U.S. Army for six years before transitioning into the field of accounting. Following his military service, he worked in the accounting department of an e-commerce manufacturing company, where he managed payments, bank reconciliations, and various bookkeeping functions, all while completing his degree in accounting. It was during this time that he committed to pursuing his CPA designation.

Michael joined Kanter Consulting Group in 2022 as a Staff Accountant, bringing a strong work ethic and a focus on continuous improvement. He now serves as the firm’s lead bookkeeper and prepares individual federal tax returns, supporting clients with accuracy and reliability.

Currently, Michael is completing his Master’s in Accounting and plans to sit for the CPA exam in the near future, further advancing his professional expertise.

Heather Ferguson

Administrative Client Support Specialist

Heather began her career as an Office Assistant at an independent financial firm, laying the groundwork for a strong foundation in business operations. She went on to spend 19 years supporting senior leadership at a privately held lighting manufacturer in Florida, where she honed her skills in team coordination, project management, and workflow optimization.

In 2025, Heather joined Kanter Consulting Group as an Administrative Client Support Specialist, bringing nearly three decades of experience in administrative and client service roles across diverse industries. In her current position, she provides essential support to the firm’s management team and ensures a seamless experience for both new and existing clients.
